River cruising is one of my favorite ways to cruise. It is a small ship, more intimate than ocean cruises and offers a totally different type of experience. With only 100 - 180 guests you can really get to know the rest of the guests onboard the ships. Since most offer bar and beverage, pre paid gratuities and included shore excursions, river cruising can be pretty much all inclusive. It offers a more in depth experience of the places and regions you are visiting. The food on board is excellent and they all offer meals typical to the area you are visiting. Most offer local wines with meals, better to pare with the local cuisine. Local entertainment is brought onboard, all combined to give you a taste of the local flare. Cruises range from lead in economical options to Luxury cruises. There is a type to match every type of guest. Even the tours cater to different clients. From active tours to classical, historical tours. There is something for everyone!
